Body

The Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor), native to New Zealand, is distinct for its slate-blue plumage and relatively small size, standing about 30-33 cm tall and weighing an average of 1.5 kg. The bird's head and upper parts are a striking blue, while its underside transitions from slate-grey ear coverts to white. Its flippers share the blue hue of its body. The Little Penguin's beak, dark grey-black in color, measures 3-4 cm long, and it has pale silvery-grey, bluish-grey, or hazel irises, along with pink feet featuring black soles and webbing. This species is adapted for aquatic life, with wings evolved into flippers for efficient swimming.
